Git Projects
The Deploy module lets you connect Git repositories and deploy applications directly from source code. Web.Casa supports multiple authentication methods, automatic framework detection, and webhook-based continuous deployment.
Creating a New Project
Section titled “Creating a New Project”- Navigate to Deploy in the sidebar.
- Click New Project.
- Enter the Git repository URL (HTTPS or SSH format).
- Select the branch to deploy.
- Configure authentication (see below).
- Click Create.
Web.Casa clones the repository to the server, analyzes the project structure, and auto-detects the framework.
Authentication Methods
Section titled “Authentication Methods”Web.Casa supports three authentication methods for private repositories:
SSH Key
Section titled “SSH Key”- Select SSH Key as the authentication method.
- Web.Casa generates a deploy key or lets you provide your own.
- Add the public key to your Git hosting platform as a deploy key.
- Web.Casa uses the private key to authenticate when cloning and pulling.
SSH key authentication works with any Git hosting platform (GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, Bitbucket, etc.).
GitHub App
Section titled “GitHub App”- Select GitHub App as the authentication method.
- Install the Web.Casa GitHub App on your GitHub account or organization.
- Grant access to the repositories you want to deploy.
- Web.Casa authenticates using the GitHub App installation token.
Benefits of GitHub App auth:
- Fine-grained permissions — grant access to specific repositories only
- No personal tokens — authentication is tied to the app, not a user account
- Automatic token refresh — no manual token rotation needed
GitHub OAuth
Section titled “GitHub OAuth”- Select GitHub OAuth as the authentication method.
- Click Connect with GitHub to authorize Web.Casa.
- Select which repositories to grant access to.
- Web.Casa uses OAuth tokens to access your repositories.
| Method | Platform Support | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| SSH Key | Any Git host | Universal compatibility |
| GitHub App | GitHub only | Organizations, fine-grained access |
| GitHub OAuth | GitHub only | Quick personal setup |
Framework Detection
Section titled “Framework Detection”After cloning, Web.Casa automatically analyzes the repository and detects the framework. 11 frameworks are currently supported:
| Framework | Detection Method |
|---|---|
| Next.js | next in package.json dependencies |
| Nuxt | nuxt in package.json dependencies |
| Vite | vite in package.json devDependencies |
| Remix | remix in package.json dependencies |
| Express.js | express in package.json dependencies |
| Go | go.mod in project root |
| Laravel | laravel/framework in composer.json |
| Flask | flask in requirements.txt |
| Django | manage.py and requirements.txt |
| Dockerfile | Dockerfile in project root |
| Custom | Manual configuration |
Based on the detected framework, Web.Casa automatically suggests:
- Install command (e.g.,
npm install,pip install -r requirements.txt) - Build command (e.g.,
npm run build) - Start command (e.g.,
npm start,python manage.py runserver)
You can override any auto-detected settings. Framework detection is a convenience feature, not a requirement.
Auto Deploy (Webhooks)
Section titled “Auto Deploy (Webhooks)”Enable automatic deployments triggered by Git pushes:
- In your project settings, find the Auto Deploy section.
- Copy the unique Webhook URL generated for your project.
- Add the URL as a webhook in your Git hosting platform:
- GitHub — Settings > Webhooks > Add webhook
- GitLab — Settings > Webhooks
- Gitea — Settings > Webhooks
- Set the trigger event to Push events.
When a push is detected on the configured branch:
- Web.Casa receives the webhook payload
- Pulls the latest code
- Runs the build pipeline
- Deploys the updated application
You can always trigger a manual deployment from the panel regardless of webhook configuration.
Deployment History
Section titled “Deployment History”Each project maintains a complete deployment history:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | Success, failed, or in progress |
| Commit | Git commit hash and message |
| Duration | Total build and deploy time |
| Triggered by | Manual, webhook, or rollback |
| Timestamp | When the deployment started |
Rollback
Section titled “Rollback”To revert to a previous version:
- Open the Deployments tab in your project.
- Find the successful deployment you want to restore.
- Click Rollback.
- Web.Casa redeploys the application using that deployment’s state.
Rollback creates a new deployment entry in the history, so you can always roll forward again if needed.
