Redis
Web.Casa provides full lifecycle management for Redis through Docker-based instances. Create, configure, and administer Redis instances entirely from the web panel.
Instance Management
Section titled “Instance Management”Each Redis instance runs as an isolated Docker container.
Creating an Instance
Section titled “Creating an Instance”- Navigate to Databases and click Create Instance.
- Select Redis as the engine.
- Configure the instance name and optional authentication password.
- Optionally select a preset (Development or Production).
- Click Create to spin up the container.
Instance Operations
Section titled “Instance Operations”| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Start | Boot the container and accept connections |
| Stop | Gracefully shut down the instance |
| Delete | Remove the container and all associated data |
Deleting an instance is irreversible. Ensure you have backups if persistence data matters.
Connection Info
Section titled “Connection Info”Each instance provides ready-to-use connection details in multiple formats:
- CLI command —
redis-clicommand ready to paste into a terminal - Connection URI —
redis://:password@host:portfor application configs - Environment variable —
REDIS_URL=...for.envfiles - Docker internal address — for services running in the same Docker network
Command Console
Section titled “Command Console”The built-in command console lets you execute Redis commands against any instance directly from the browser:
- Run read-only Redis commands (
GET,KEYS,INFO,TTL,TYPE,EXISTS,DBSIZE,MGET,HGETALL,LRANGE,SCARD,SMEMBERS,ZRANGE) - View formatted responses for all data types
- Switch between instances from a dropdown
The command console is read-only — only the commands listed above are allowed. Write commands such as
SETare blocked. The command console works across all Redis instances managed by Web.Casa.
View real-time instance logs from the container output. Useful for debugging connection issues, monitoring slow operations, and verifying configuration changes.
Advanced Configuration
Section titled “Advanced Configuration”Fine-tune instance behavior through the Settings tab. You can also apply a Development or Production preset as a starting point.
Memory and Eviction
Section titled “Memory and Eviction”| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Max Memory | Upper memory limit for the instance |
| Eviction Policy | Behavior when max memory is reached (see table below) |
Available eviction policies:
| Policy | Behavior |
|---|---|
noeviction | Return errors when memory limit is reached (no keys removed) |
allkeys-lru | Remove least recently used keys from all keys |
volatile-lru | Remove least recently used keys from keys with an expiry set |
allkeys-random | Remove random keys from all keys |
volatile-ttl | Remove keys with the shortest TTL first |
Persistence
Section titled “Persistence”| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| AOF Persistence | Append-Only File — logs every write operation for durability |
| RDB Snapshots | Point-in-time snapshots at configured intervals |
- AOF provides stronger durability guarantees (at most one second of data loss)
- RDB provides compact snapshots and faster restarts
- Both can be enabled simultaneously for maximum safety
Production preset enables AOF persistence and sets a higher max memory limit. Development preset uses minimal resources with persistence disabled.
